Hello to all
I would like to here your opinion about the VLOOKUP vs INDEX/MATCH function.
Is one faster than the other, what is the difference, and what it will be the criteria to use one over the other?

I have a sheet with several VLOOKUP formulas, it takes a long time to get updated also when I save it takes a long time what causes this, any way to remedy this?

Thank you
All
John

It's Ridiculously Simple... I am just having a few kinks with it.
As in, Wether the Absolute or Relative Address is better..

But the silly thing works, except for the occasional REF errors, but the **** thing is pulling most of the data from a closed network file...

So surreal :)

Excel Facts

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Well Once you have it worked out don't be shy and please post it.....

thanks

I indexed the First Column of the File Concerned.
Then I did a List Box for the First Cell of the Query Line.

Then I did this with the formulas.

The First cell is the Number that the list Box Generates... If I could figure a way to replace the list box, then that would be neat.
Also, the REF errors are intermittent... they do not occur in the same places, and its a puzzle, but it's pulling a large chunk of the data from remote files... If I could work out the kinks... it would fly as a handy dandy ref dashboard
