Is it possible to do a Vlookup where it only looks at the first 9 digits of a number? For example in the list below, the only difference is the last two digits. I need the answer returned if anything matches the first 9 digits.

180G08065F0
180G08065F7
180G08065H1

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
You'll need to do an INDEX/MATCH array-entered formula instead. What ranges are you dealing with (ie: what range are you looking in for the match, what range are you wanting to return, and what range holds the value that you are looking for)

Use left("string",9)&"*" as your first parameter to vlookup. Even with exact match, it finds first row where the first 9 digits match.
