What’s the difference between Von Pookie’s HTML Maker and Colo’s HTML Maker?

I had to reload it and I found out by reading the board that Colo’s is the one I need for displaying my sheets on the board but what is the other one used for?

I did - but obviously not well enough - I followed a link to the VB HTML maker – which I realize now is a different file altogether. When that didn’t work (no HTML menu showed) I went to Colo’s site. If I recall I went through the same scenario when I installed this file on a work computer and I assume the VB-HTML Maker is for posting code to the board. Is there a FAQ on this file too?

Actually, No – What is it?

Is that something I should be or will need to be familiar with?

I'm joking, sorry, that's why I used this guy:

We got to talking about Unicode Strings and BSTRs in another thread of yours, it was fun. :)

Hello,

Hmmm, this is actually a big question...

Perhaps you should start a new thread if you really want to know, but in an attempt to address the question, see the following thread, which is what I was speaking to:

http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=179024

See my last post in that thread, and the article by Steven Roman.

Also, see the following:

http://vb.mvps.org/hardcore/html/whatisunicode.htm

In fact, if you're interested in VB[A], I recommend you read that whole book, the price certainly is right... ;)

For most Excel operations, you won't need to follow all of this, but if you're parsing strings with VB[A] (and other operations), understanding what a string is in this language can help; i.e., you can parse them extremely efficiently with native tools.
