This seems so elementary that I'm embarrassed to ask but...

I have a list in a column and just want to count how many of each entry exists and place that number in another list:

Column A Column B Column C

It's as simple as that. I want to create a table that lists the number of entries for each cell in column a and then lists the entry next to it. Can I use a pivot table or something?

Any help appreciated ...

If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
