Hi guys,
I have a problem with downloading from a web site in that some data totally changes format and no way has any resemblance to the original. At first I used WebQuery then just Copy/Pasted for the same result. I'm guessing it's a Date thing but can't figure it at all.

Examples-
50:11-5-5 pastes as 40670.09097
31:5-5-3 pastes as 40667.29514

It generally seems to affect columns A & B more so than others.
I've tried formating the cells, formating the entire sheet before pasting and looked at Data Validation - totally baffled.
Would be forever grateful for some advice.

Rgds,
Dennis

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
The problem I guess you have figured correctly:
If the cell format is "General" it takes the value as you have indicated.
However, if cell format is "Text" then it remains at it is!
Did you try formatting first 2 columns to text?

Thanks for your quick response, taurean.
Yeah, I've formatted before, after, text, custom, it still returns the same result.
