What formula can I use to return values in one cell in a new column?

for example I have this value in one cell = First name, last name (XXXXX)
I want to move (XXXXX) in another column and remove it from the cell that contains firs name, last name

There are several ways to do this.

If they are all in exactly that format, the simplest is probably using the Data, Text to Columns function, and specifying "(" as the delimiter character.

This will probably give you a space character at the end of the "First name, last name " string - if that's a problem, post back, there are ways round it.
