What happened to bolding in nested parentheses

I have many complicated formulas that contain an abundance of nested parentheses. For years, using Microsoft Excel X, I have come to depend on each set of parentheses becoming bolded temporarily each time the cursor passes over a parenthesis. The bolding shows the corresponding opening or closing parenthesis. This has been very helpful in keeping track of where I am in the formula, especially when there are many of these, but with the recent "upgrade" to Excel 2008, the highlighting feature has disappeared. The color matching of parentheses is still present, but I've always had difficulty distinguishing some of the colors.

Below is an example of one of these formulas (from my homebrewing workbook) just so you can see the extent of the issue. Some are much more complicated than this one:

=IF(ISBLANK(Liquor_to_grist),"",(((SUM('Color and Gravity'!B3:B14))*453.59*0.4*(Target_Mashin_Temp-Grain_Ambient_Temp))((Tun_Mass*0.5*IF(Mash_Tun_Weight_Units_Preference=1,453.59,IF(Mash_Tun_Weight_Units_Preference=2,1000,IF(Mash_Tun_Weight_Units_Preference=3,28.35,1)))*INDEX(Mash_Tun_Specific_Heat,Mash_Tun_Index))*(Mash_Tun_Temp.-Target_Mashin_Temp)))/(Mashin_Liquor_Volume*IF(Volume_Units_Preference=1,3785,1000))+Target_Mashin_Temp)

Is this documented somewhere that this feature is no longer available or am I experiencing a bug?

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
As far as I can tell, the feature occurs whilst entering the formula initially, but not thereafter. Whilst editing the formula in the formula bar, the function currently being evaluated (assuming there are multiple functions) appears in bold but the nice parenthesis emphasis does seem to have gone.
