When "=" doesn't mean formula

In a large data file, multiple users have added phone numbers to cells with a "=" instead of a "+" creating formulas. Ex. below:

observed
=206-555-1212

expected
+206-555-1212

Is there a way to copy and paste, replacing the "=" with "+" in one column?

Try Edit > Replace

=

with

+

That worked, thanks! I also highlighted the column and that limited the find/replace to that column.
