When i have to use := in VBA?

Excel Facts

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
You can use the := symbol for named arguments e.g.

Workbooks.Open "C:\temp\myfile.xls", True, False)

is equivalent to:

Workbooks.Open Filename:= "C:\temp\myfile.xls", UpdateLinks:= True, ReadOnly:= False

With named arguments you can also put the arguments in any order. They also make it clearer what your code is doing, especially for methods which have a large number of arguments (the Workbook.Open method is a good example).

Is that a typo, or is that why I hate using that bit of code?

No, not a typo - the code will open the workbook, update any links and open it as read-write. If I used this instead then the workbook would be opened as read-only.

Code:
Workbooks.Open "C:\temp\myfile.xls", True, True

Like I mentioned above this is a good time to use named arguments over positional arguments as it makes it much clearer (which should always be a goal of any decent programmer :-) ) as to what the code is doing.
