Hi, please advice as to why is it that the formula does not follow along with the cell when sorted..? and what do i need to do to fix this issue?

I have a table with 12 columns...only countifs formulas referenced to different sheet.

Why is it that when it is sorted it goes wrong...

Thanks in advance

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Hi Pedie

Just a guess, sounds like you need to use absolute references in your formulas.

Hi Brian, by absolute, do you mean somthing like this '=COUNTIF($N$2:$N$23,$E$2)?

The thing is that as i cannot keep on creating new formulas for each cell I have freezed some rows and cols etc...

Thanks again for helping...

Yes, but that's all I can suggest without seeing the data.
If you need to sort, coudn't you sort first then apply the formula.

Okay....Brian, i think i'll protect the sheet so that users dont have to sort the table...and make thing complicated:biggrin:

Thanks again...
