with this long-standing issue of mine:

How can I autosave the last save date to a certain cell in a worksheet every time I save that file?

I would appreciate any tip. Thanks.

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.

Could try looking at "on action save" - and then take that date and paste it to a predetermined cell.

Hi,

welcome to the board.

Could use track changes,

or

open the VBE, Alt & F11
Locate - ThisWorkbook in the explorer on the right.
Double Click it.
In the main window change (general) to 'Workbook',
in the right hand drop down select BeforeSave,

and type in:

Sheets("Sheet1").Range("a1") = Date

between the two lines,

you should have:

Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)

Sheets("Sheet1").Range("a1") = Date

End Sub

Hope this helps,

Also you could go a little further and put:

Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)

Sheets("Sheet1").Range("a1") = Date & " " & Time

End Sub
