I created a template, but when I right click and then go to formatt cells, nothing happens. Any thoughts??? It works on other cell that I dont use in the template though????

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
If your "Format Cells..." option is grayed out, then you probably have protection setup on those cells.
If you can make a change and, "nothing happens", something else is going on. Might need to explain your situation clearer.

nothing happens at all. I right click on a cell and then nothing happens. But if I click way out in space somewhere where I have never put data or never intend to I can formatt the cells.

What happens if you click on one of these cells and hit CTRL-1?

Nothing happens. It is really weird. I have formatted these cells A-S and when I click on any of them nothing happens. But if I right click and then formatt cells on T it takes me right to the formatt screen????

I have the same issue I think. My workbook has three tabs of different type of data.(copied and pasted from another workbook) I need to formatt a column of data and when I highlight the cells right click and click on Formatt, nothing happens, Ctrl +1 nothing happens or click on formatt, cells from menu bar.

Everything was okay a couple of eeks ago. Formatting works in other work books.
