Hello

I'm looking to combine a sentence or phrase and show a percentage but not really able to show the % sign.

basically im trying to show this:
27% of SE population used.

this is my formula in excel:
=CEILING(53/196,0.1)&"% of SE population used."
but that is giving me......"0.3% of SE population used.

thxs!

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
try this
Code:
="%" & CEILING(53/196,0.1)&" of SE population used."

take THAT VOG!!!!

:P

thxs for quick response.

is it possible to show 27%. i realize "ceiling" is round it up, but i would prefer it would round to the decimal i.e. 53/196 = 0.2704....so i would like for it to say.....27%..instead of 30%

Try

=TEXT(ROUNDDOWN(CEILING(53/196,0.01),2),"0%")&" of SE population used."

which gives 28%.
