I currently have a workbook that links to a source workbook, which contains a single worksheet. That link works fine. However, I now have a need to "Change Source", but the new source workbook has 1) multiple worksheets, AND 2) a number of #DIV/0! errors due to blank cells used in the formula calculations, and Excel balks at updating the link, with an error dialog box indicating "A formula in this worksheet contains one or more invalid references. Verify that your formulas contain a valid path, workbook, range name, and cell reference"

Is the error caused by one of the 2 items noted above, both, or something else?

Thanks,
Craig

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Follow up, with a finding. I noticed yesterday that 3 (of the 6 total) budget workbooks were Excel v2007, while the other 3 were Excel v97-2003. Though I was working from a 2007 version workbook, the 2007 workbooks I was trying to link to, were the ones causing the problem. I saved the 3 v2007 workbooks as v97-2003, and linking then went without a hitch.

So now my question is, why would this have caused this issue, or, is it possible this was a 'false positive', and something else was really causing the issue? Does anyone have any insight on this one?

Thanks,
Craig
