Worksheet tab color oddness

If False equals zero, why does:-

Sheets(1).Tab.Color=False

reset a sheet's tab color to the default baby blue, whereas

Sheets(1).Tab.Color=0

changes it to black?

That color property is actually a Variant type.
So, when you set it to False, it actually gets set to the Boolean value and this is interpreted as: I don't want to specify a color, give me the default.
When you set it to 0, you actually say: forget the default, gimme black!
