Wrapped text printing problem

Hi there,

I gone a problem with excel and I would be grateful if anyone could help me.

I have text in a cell which I have wrapped. The normal view shows the text in the wrapped cell to be on say 3 lines but when I go to the print preview the text is on two lines not three. This leaves a extra blank line which looks unsightly in the document when printed.
Basically the normal view doesn't correspond to the print preview. The printed version is as the print preview.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
Have you tried forcing the text onto a new line where appropriate?

Press F2 while the cell is selected, go to the end of your first 'line', then hold Alt and press Return twice.

Thanks for the reply,

It wouldn't really help, users must be able to type freely without having to worry about having to insert new lines all the time.

Basically the normal view shows the cell as

300 thick hardcore required to underside of
reinforced concrete floor slab; this will also serve
as working platform for piling rig. Upon
completion of the piling it will no doubt be
necessary to import additional hardcore material
to make good level.

But the print preview & printed copy shows

300 thick hardcore required to underside of
reinforced concrete floor slab; this will also serve as
working platform for piling rig. Upon completion of the
piling it will no doubt be necessary to import additional
hardcore material to make good level.

You can see that the normal view take up 6 lines whilst the printed version only take up 5 lines. The extra line saved is printed as a blank line which is the problem. I tried all different cell formatting and alignments without success.

Is this a bug in excel?

Any ideas??
