Hello MrExcel Community,

I am trying to push changes from Access to an Oracle via Access link and update query. I am receiving the "write conflict" error or an Oracle Error "ORA-01461 can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column". The table in Access is a child of the oracle table and should have the same datatypes. Can anyone help?

Thank you,

Mr DataDog

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
those should work fine.
but you can get the error if you are missing a key field, or indexed field that needs to be in the update. (as a where clause)

Something I should clarify. The "write conflict" error shows up anytime I try to make any manual changes to the table.

Have you verified this?
Also, have you narrowed down exactly what column (or columns) are involved?
