Writing out column value next to Large( ) result

If I have a worksheet like follows:
A 5
B 9
C 7

the command =large($B$1:$B$3,1) returns 9. Is there a formula that will return the value B; i.e., not the largest value in column B, but the corresponding value in column A.

This should work fine based on your example:

=INDEX($A$1:$A$3,MATCH(LARGE($B$1:$B$3,1),B1:B3,0))

LARGE(range,1) is the same as MAX(range).

=INDEX(A1:A3,MATCH(MAX(B1:B3),B1:B3,0))

Might there be duplicate max values like this:

A 5
B 9
C 7
D 9

And, if so, what result do you expect?
