I can use XL but I'm not very good designing sheets, what I need to do is make a "currency converter" like those on the WWW. Basically I need a cell people can enter the amount, then a "pull down" menu so they can choose currency (GBP, USD etc), then a result cell also with a pull down menu to choose output currency.

Can any one send me an example or give me some advise?

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)

the rate is fixed for a year, so 2002 is...
to USD...

Euro Zone 1.12444
British Pound 0.72376
Danish Krone 8.43333
Norwegian Krone 9.11733
Russian Rouble 32.23333
Swedish Krona 9.81667
Swiss Franc 1.75100
Turkish Lira 1736667

does this help?

You can use a combination of Data Validation and Lookup to produce your results.
Book2
ABCDEFGHI
1EuroZone.1.2444
2BritishPound.0.72376AmounttoConvert100
3DanishKrone.8.43333
4NorwegianKrone.9.11733Result72.376
5RussianRouble.32.23333CurrencyExchangeRate
6SwedishKrona.9.81667BritishPound.0.72376
7SwissFranc.1.751
8TurkishLira1736667
9
Sheet1

To get the currency use Data Validation>List>and select your list of currencies.
To get the exchange rate use the lookup formula in cell H6
The conversion formula is in cell G4
You can pretty it up with Formatting, this is just quickly thrown together to give you an idea.
i will email the example sheet if you want

NB- CURRENCIES SHOULD BE SORTED ALPHABETICALLY FOR LOOKUP TO WORK
