I am looking for an automated way to convert .xls files into csv. Convertion should be launched from .bat file. thanks for any help

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
This batch file (typed in Notepad and saved with .BAT suffix) will run Excel and open Book1.xls

--------------------------------------------------------------
C:
CD \PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT OFFICE\OFFICE
EXCEL C:\TEMP\BOOK1.XLS
'--------------------------------------------------------------

I would record a macro and set it to autorun when the workbook is opened using Private Sub Workbook_Open()

Brian,
thanks for the quick response. I should have noted that my conversion from xls to csv has to happen without user interaction. The batch file would run at night and convert the xls to csv and then ftp the csv file to unix.
thanks again
