Hi - I have been working with a few column charts in Excel 2003, and somewhere along the way the y-axis labels got screwed up. It looks they are now wrapping, and no longer display the full value. So what used to appear as

$2,000,000
$1,800,000
$1,600,000

Now has a whole bunch of digits overlapping each other up and down the axis. I have been googling but can't seem to find an answer.

Please help!

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
Same problem - whenever the number format changes, the graph extends to shrink the width of the y-axis text area, making the labels illegible.

I helped someone else fix a similar problem with the X axis labels. Not sure if it was an old 2003 format or not.

The solution was that the Plot area was too close to the chart area in full chart view.

Try shrinking your plot area.
