Hi,

New to PowerPivot. Currently migrating some reports from Excel to Excel online and get them to feed off PowerPivots.

It seems I need to create a DimDate table/tab in my PowerPivot in order to use the DATEADD formula in order to calculate year on year growth (in say Sales for example).

I have a Year and a MonthNumber and a MonthName column in my dataset. Can I tie a DimDate table to this? Or can I work around it using the columns I currently have ( I'm just using 2014 and 2015 year data)?
It seems quite restrictive if I were to need to have a dateday field (e.g. 01/08/2015). My dataset does not have this info and I am able to use a pivot table formula in the current offline Excel report (Growth = (2015-2014)/2014).

Appreciate any help on this
