I have several vendor parts lists and I need a master list to compare them all to.

I'm guessing that it would be a little too much to ask from this forum since there is a lot to do. However if I had someone who really knew his stuff then it would cost me less even if his hourly wage was more.

The advice that I seek since I am not an expert in Excel and VBA, is how do I qualify a potential expert I could hire who could make simple and quick work of what I ask?

Also, if I found such an expert what would be a reasonable and fair wage to expect?

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Hi,

Try posting something on here and you may get a surprise about how much people are willing to help, alternatively, ry Mr Excel's consulting service, link from the home page, if you don't get any response.

PS - I will do it for 10K :)

Depending on the details of what you needs, it may take less effort than you think. Perhaps you could explain in a little more detail how your vendor parts lists are layed out, and what would like in a Master Parts List.

Are you looking for additional functionality, or just a list of the uniqe vendor parts?

Ok, I'll try here first.

First things first though, maybe I should have you look at the data and give me advice on how I should approach this.

Since I don't know how MrExcel allows me to upload a file here is a link to Box.net with the file.

http://www.box.net/shared/p48srzfngt

This is 3 of my vendors price lists combined (RawData).

I need a product list to use as a master to compare my vendor's list against.
• Sort by OEM (which I can already do)
• Sort by Machine (each machine is on it's own row)
• Pull out non-toner or drum items and/or data.
• Match compatibles # to OEM#
• Move type/color and category data found in the description into separate columns:
Toner, black, cyan, magenta, yellow, etc.

Does this make sense?

How do I start?

You'll be better off posting a screen shot. With uploaded files you only get as many eyes as choose to go there and dowload an untrusted file. ;)
