Ok I have a column with data that will be one of three words, resolved escalated or terminated. Depending on which word is in the column I would like to change the color of the row to green yellow or red.
Any help would be appreciated
It would have been much easier to know which range of cells are of interest and which column holds the words...
Lets say that A2:D40 is the range of interest and column D holds those key words.
Select A2:D40.
Activate Format|Conditional Formatting.
Choose 'Formula Is' for 'Condition 1'.
Enter in the formula Box:
=$D2="resolved"
Activate Format.
Select, say, green, on the Patterns Tab.
Click OK.
Activate Add.
Choose 'Formula Is' for 'Condition 2'.
Enter in the formula Box:
=$D2="escalated"
Activate Format.
Select, say, red, on the Patterns Tab.
Click OK.
Activate Add.
Choose 'Formula Is' for 'Condition 3'.
Enter in the formula Box:
=$D2="terminated"
Activate Format.
Select yellow on the Patterns Tab.
Click OK.
Click OK.
