Applying a spread curve

Hi,

I'm working on an estimating model where the user selects an amount (ie hours) and a curve profile (ie Linear= 20% 20% 20% 20% 20%, Bell= 10% 20% 40% 20% 10%, etc.)

The curve defines how to spread the hours over a duration that could be 1 month, 3 months, 7 months etc. I can get close using a PERCENTILE function, but any ideas for a better solution would be welcome.

Thanks

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
Do you have a sample spreadsheet you can email? If so, send it to me.

If not, I might benefit from more information on what you're trying to do.
