    Default Unlocking a read-only file

    Hey guys,

I have an excel file that is password protected. I have opened it as read-only.. Is there any way to unlock it & do it modifiable when I already opened it as read only (of course without having to close it & re-open it and enter password lol)

    Thanks,

You can Save-As with a new filename and remove the "Read Only" from the saveas dialoge window "Tools - General options"

Is there anyway to unlock it while on it already? without having to save it somewhere and go get it from there?

Nope, that would kinda defeat the purpose of "read only", wouldn't it?

well, once the book is open, you can go back to File - open - and open it again.
Then enter the password when prompted..
