I have a list of Departments and names on Sheet2.
On Sheet1, I want to be able to key the department and have the names pop up.
Is there a way to do this? I tried "Match", but it will only return a number.

    Hiya,

Sounds like you could have had a Vlookup.

    Try using vlookup

    =vlookup(DeptNo,Table,ColumnNumber)

It's never too late to learn something new.

I think your problem is better suited for vlookup:

On Sheet1, enter in your department to match in Cell A1 and place the following formula in B1: =VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!A:B,2)
On Sheet2, your data should be organized as department in column A and name in column B.

    How about VLookup?

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

Thanks all, but I think I'll try using VLookup.

Good idea. I wish someone had thought of that.
