Is there something wrong with this line:

Range("D1:D" & x / 2).Select

Excel Facts

Format cells as date

Click here to reveal answer

Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).

To force an integer value, try

Range("D1:D" & Int(x / 2)).Select

This *might* give you one less than you want, so play around with MOD and the like.
