Hide Cell Values under with TEXT displayed over top?

Hi there!

Is there a way to hide values within the cell but have something else displayed on top such as text?

Help always appreciated and thanks always provided :)
 

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Sort by date Sort by votes
Insert a rectangle or whatever shape the cell is on top of the cell, format it as you like and type some text in it.
