When sorting a spreadsheet in MS Excel XP, is there a way to sort cell borders with the original rows and columns they were applied to? Thanks!

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Altough Mark IS right... maybe, depends on your spreadsheet, you could use Conditional Formatting to "tie" the formatting with the values.

Though before sorting you could hide a column with the row values in it .. which could later then be used to refer to the orginal order.
