I want to create a Speedo style chart that look like the attached image

Specifically I need the varying sizes if lines to represent 1, 5 and 10 mph as per the image.

I'd use my link in Post #2 then....but I agree with Jon and suspect your client will be back with more requests once it's completed !!
It's a bit like flashing cells....they're great for the first 5 minutes.....then the novelty wears off...(y)

Also, read the article at Chandoos site.....some pertinent comments regarding speedo charts
AND
some links for downloading and creating more of the similar you require.
Regardless of your clients needs, I'd make sure you provide plenty of caveats when you present them their "Speedo"
