Default Chart type & how to make

    Hi,
Can someone tell me what kind of chart or graph this is & how to make on in excel? I call it a step chart because it is supposed to show the series of steps taken to result in the final value - kind of like the credits & debits in your checkbook that result in your bank balance. The picture refuses to copy correctly - the -20 should be twice as tall as they are and the +10 is not supposed to be underneath the -20, it should be next to it.

    +10
    +10 -20
    +10 +10
    +10 -20
    +10

    Thanks in advance.

I think you want a waterfall or bridge chart.

Waterfall charts are available as a built-in type in Excel 2016:

To create them in earlier versions of Excel, try these tutorials:
