When opening my 2010 powerpivot model after adding new data i often get this error message. The model seems ot be working fine, but should I be worried about this as have some odd calcuation issues listed in my other post implying some corruption issues? If I take an older version, that doesn't have this error, and update the data again I sometimes get a new working one and sometimes one with this error. The question how hard should I be working on this to make sure I don't see this error or is it misleading?

Thanks
Mike

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Can no one help me? It now takes 30 minutes just to change the sort or on a pivot table so my modle is really in trouble and almost unusable. I use dropbox and have gone back loading up models form months ago and all load with this same initialization error when at the time they were fine. I'm therefore thinking it isn't the model but something structural in my powerpivot setup. Should i uninstall powerpivot completely as a possible error in the module?

Thanks for anything to get me out of this corner.

Mike

I have certainly seen Power Pivot workbooks get corrupted (I saw one where just like... maybe 40k rows were taking MINUTES to refresh)... and we had to re-create the workbook from scratch. Sucked. :(

I have also seen installs get corrupt... but that is less frequent. In your case, do you have another machine you can try, so you can rule out the install?
