Similar to text to coloums but with a formula

I have a coloum of cells ( A )
that has the following
Jim Jackson/DC/London@enter.co.uk
Kim Loydes/HR/London@enter.co.uk
Paul Linter/DC/London@enter.co.uk

in coloum B i want to end up with every thing up till the /

But i dont want to use text to coloums as the data in Coloumn A changes often. I know there is left and right for text but how do you use it to take the chars till it get to set item such as the "/"
