Hi All,

I am trying to open some XML files with the recent Excel 2010 but it cannot load the specified XML or schena source.

The XML file doesn't have a schema.

I am able to open them with Excel 2007 still on my computer. I have just a message indicating that Excel generates the schema.

Is someone able to indicate me new ways to investigate where is the problem as i really need to adapt a full set of macro from Excel 2007 to Excel 2010.

Thanks,

Franck

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
Thanks Andrew,

Supported by the fact "it should work" i open the XML with Notepad to see what is wrong. After several tries, i noticed that the second line of the file was generating an error. This line contains reference to a "file.DTD"

bracket DOCTYPE logiObj SYSTEM "logiObj.dtd" []BRACKET

Once this line is deleted, it is now working with Excel 2010. If Excel was able to ignore this line, Excel 2010 "recognizes" a Document Type Definition file but it is not able to process further.

Can someone have some sort of more accurate explaination about this problem?

Hi Frank

Did you try and post the xml line causing the problem? If so, you need to insert a space after the opening "<" in the tag and also after the "<" in the closing tag otherwise the Board interprets it as html.
