Hi there

I have created a stock tracker in excel in which the info needed for it is being drawn from a number of other tabs in the sheet. The problem I have is when I add a line in the middle of the sheet, for example when a new product arrives, all the cell links get messed up. For example

Cell A1 - Product A (is linked to Stocks A1 Product A)
Cell A2 - Product B (is linked to Stocks A2 Product B)

But when I add a line

Cell A1 - Product A (is linked to Stocks A1)
Cell A2 - Product C new product (not linked)
Cell A3 - Product B (is linked to Stocks A2 Product C)

As the stocks sheet also had a line added my cell links now do not match product to product.

Is there a way of when I insert a new row, all the formulas below also add 1 as they move down a row to keep them matched with the linked cell/correct product???

Hope this makes sense, its a strange issue and hard to explain.

Thanks a lot for this

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
Welcome to the board.

Have you written the formulas =$A$1? If so - remove the dollar signs and I believe they should adjust when a new line is inserted.

Hi there, thanks for replying

No I havnt got any dollar signs to lock the formula. Is there another way that I could have locked them without knowing?

Cheers
