We have recently rolled out Office 2007. When cells are copied with absolute cell references many times they have to be edited. There are times when it is an advantage to edit the cell in overtype mode however it seems that only two characters in the cell reference will overtype and then excel returns to insert mode. This is not true when overtyping text or overtyping formulas comprised of numbers, those edits seem to allow for endless overtype. It seems only when overtyping a cell reference that this occurs. Anyone have insight on this?

Best regards, Terry.
