....a simple one but too much rich food has probably resulted in many brain cells being asleep still.


In a cell I have the formula =TODAY() so as you'd expect I see todays date in the format 28-Dec-20

However, if I tweak the formula to read ="Todays Date Is "&TODAY() all I see in the cell is Todays Date Is 44193

How can I get it to display as Todays Date Is 28-Dec-20?

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
How about
Excel Formula:
="Todays Date is " &Text(Today(),"dd-mmm-yy")
