If I put the accde icon on a users desktop, will the information they enter still populate the original accdb database?

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
If it is linked to it, yes. The "accde" is just a compiled version where the users cannot see the source code/vba.

So after I link the tables do I do away with the old table? Because when I enter data in on the user version the original table does not update but the link table does.

I am not sure what you mean.
If the accde is created right from the underlying accdb, everything should be fine, and it should do what you want.

However, if you are looking to distribute the database to multiple users, you should really split the database first (into back-end and front-end), and create the accde from the front-end.
