Active X component error 429

When I try to use either of the below. Any idea why? Tried re registering the scrrun.dll but that did not help.

ActivePresentation.Slides(slidename).Layout = ppLayoutTitle
ActivePresentation.Slides.FindBySlideID(265).Layout = ppLayoutTitle
