add numbers in a range > 1000

Hi all

I know this may be a basic question but I have had a bit of a look and cant find an answer.
I have a range of cells with many number values and I need to do a sum of all that are greater than 1000 without messing up the order of the spreadsheet (i.e. without re-sorting it). CAn anyone help with this?

Use SUMIF() for that.

=SUMIF(A1:A100, ">1000", A1:A100)
