Hi
i want to add 2 columns, however one of the columns may have no value in.
For example

ALCCAL+CC
77
7714

<tbody>
</tbody>

i've created the expression [tblAL]![Hours]+[tblCC]![Hours]

however the results i get are

ALCCAL+CC
7
7714

<tbody>
</tbody>

What is the expression i should be using?

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Mathematical computations do not like Null values. Convert the nulls to zeroes with the NZ function, i.e.
Code:
[COLOR=#333333]Nz([tblAL]![Hours],0)+Nz([tblCC]![Hours],0)[/COLOR]
