Hi again

I have a list of reasons for sick leave in column G, and the amount of days lost for each occurance of that reason in Column F:

F G
4 Anxiety
5 Back problems
3 Gastric
76 Back problems
4 Infectious disease
5 Gastric
8 Fracture
3 Anxiety
6 Infectious disease

I have set up a list of reasons in a separate sheet, and now want to search the main sheet for each "reason" and sum the total days lost for each one? I've done it before but am having a total mind blank today! (it is Friday...)

Any help you can offer will be much appreciated!

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
assuming reason in A1 on summary sheet then in B1

=SUMIF(datasheet!$G:$G,$A1,datasheet!$F:$F)

copy down for each reason on your summary sheet
