Hi there

I need help with adding percentages.

The formula I'm using is =SUMIF(A1:A10,"xxx",C1:C10) where Col C are percentages and after adding I get a return of more than 100%.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Are you getting the correct sum?

Of course if you add percentages that total more than 100% then you will get more than 100%!

e.g. 40% + 50% + 20% = 110%

I figured that it simply adds the actual values.

Is there a way of adding as it's done in the SubTotals Max feature giving a true percentage total.

I Don't know SubTotals Max

Can you post a sample of what you need to achieve?

It's okay Dutchy, thanks.

I figured it out by using the total deviding (Col F) and devided (Col E) data in an IF formula instead.

Eg.
=IF(A1:A10="xxx",SUMIF(A1:A10,"xxx",F1:F10)/SUMIF(A1:A10,"xxx",E1:E10),"")

Cheers
Yusuf
