I am trying to add something to names already in cells in a workbook. Is there a way to select a group of names and text to the names...
Example: Mike, Pat, Bill etc would become Mike-4, PAt-4, Bill-4
I am trying to avoid using the find and replace method because there are over 200 names...

Here'e one way...enter this into an empty cell... '-4 which will not show the apostrophe in the cell, but will make it text instead of a minus 4.
Then add an empty column to the right of your existing list. Then formula is, say, =A1&$D$1 where D1 contains the '-4. Then copy the results down. This should do the trick, but to "seal the deal" you need to copy the formula column, then edit/paste special, values...to remove the dependence upon the original data cells. HTH /s/ Larry

if you're looking for a macro then;
select cells you want to change then run this code.
Code:
Sub test()
For Each c In Selection
c.Value = c.Value & "-4"
Next
End Sub
