hey,

Thanks a lot for your time. I used textbox in my excel template. (like survey). Then I sent it out to some other people. But unfortunately I received survey back from other people. Sometime it is screwed if people have excel 2007 installed in their system.

I am wondering if there is easy way to solve compatibilty issse of texbox in excel 2003 and 2007. or is there any alternative we could use to replace it? :):):)

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
What type of Textbox are you using? Forms or Control (ActiveX)?

Please explain what "Sometime it is screwed" is actually doing.

As an alternative you can use "Shape Objects" then type text into them.

First question, I do not know. But I just got textbox from drawing tool ribbon.

Second, I built marco so that it will automatically collect data from those surveys and put them into main sheet. The problem is that automation will not be able to open survey sent back from other people if people save survey as 2007 excel version and send it back.

It will require to convert excel spreedsheet to 2003 version. You could manually open it by clicking it. I hope it is clear.

Basically if you create textbox in excel 2003 version. Then save as 2007 version. Then if you want to open it, it will not work unless you click converstion.

But macro i built does not smart enough to do it :confused::confused:

Still not sure what you are having trouble with.
What is in the "Textbox"?
Are the users inputting data into the Textbox?

It would be best if you use something that is compatible with both versions of Excel.
Take a look at using a UserForm for this.
Check out these Demo's for some good step by step basics.
