Hi board

I have a spreadsheet with 1000's of records in the format :-

Date Job Ref Count
01/09/2006 JOB2 3,500
01/09/2006 JOB2 10000
01/09/2006 JOB2 100
01/09/2006 JOB3 10
01/09/2006 JOB3 100

Could you tell me how I use VBA to insert a line when the Job number changes and then total up by Job Ref & Count in each line break?

Any assistance would be gratefully received!!

I'm not great with vba yet so I record alot of macros. I would record a macro that would use auto filter to sort for the conditions then insert a line and in the desidered field use auto sum to get the total.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have attempted this with Macros but have been unable to complete it (Mainly because the file changes during each refresh).

I'm looking for a solution that VBA could offer.

Thanks for your suggestion though!

I'm not great with VBA either, but what you're looking for seems like a perfect fit for SUBTOTALS. Check it out and let me know....
