Auto place formula next to SubTotal

Hi all,

I have a simple question which I hope you can help me with. I have a sheet of data which I have subtotalled - is there a way I can automatically place a simple formula in the cell 2 to the left of each subtotal?

For example, for each change in Column E (E22) I am subtotalling the values in Column L (L22) - is there a way that I can put in C22 the formula =C21?
