Hi,

Does anyone know a way of automatically filling a range of blank cells with a number series . e.g

From Cell A1 down to cell A1000 I wanyt to fill with the numbers 1 to 1000 without having to use the fill handle to drag down which takes ages.

Wondered if there was either a macro or another method.

Thanks

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
Hi there,

Try this:

Code:
Sub test()
    For i = 1 To 1000
        Cells(i, 1).Value = i
    Next
End Sub

Try

Code:
Sub fillseries()
With Range("A1:A1000")
    .Formula = "=ROW()"
    .Value = .Value
End With
End Sub

I'd like to do the same thing but, how could I change each of the codes submitted so the number list appears below the cell I have currently selected, not have them appear in the range A1:A1000, but where I'm currently 'parked' on the spreadsheet?... Thanks!
