Hi Everyone,

I am using countif and ran across this issue: I want to count how many "B*" and also "BH" but am getting the * used as a wild card and only want to count it as a character.

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks, Dennis

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
=COUNTIF(H:H,"B~*") will count "b*" but not "bh"

wildcards preceded by a ~ are treated as normal characters.
